Aleana W. Harris
Aleana Harris's practice focuses on commercial real estate transactions including the development, leasing, financing, acquisition and disposition of projects. Ms. Harris counsels developers, investors, landlords, tenants, lenders and borrowers in transactions involving retail, office, industrial, multifamily and mixed-use projects. She negotiates purchase and sale agreements and complex retail, office, medical, biotech and industrial leases. Ms. Harris also represents lenders and borrowers in connection with real-estate-secured construction loans, permanent financing and bridge loans, including multi-property and multi-state transactions.
Ms. Harris received her B.A. from Washington State University with honors and her law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law with honors where she was a member of the National Appellate Advocacy Team and received the "Best Oralist" award on the National Moot Court Team.
Ms. Harris is a member of the King County and Washington State Bar Associations and the American Bar Association. She was selected as one of Washington's "Rising Stars" in Washington Law and Politics and is currently listed in Chambers USA and recognized as a “Washington Super Lawyer.” She is also currently a member of the American College of Mortgage Lawyers. Ms. Harris is a past member of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Probate & Trust (RPPT) Section of the Washington State Bar Association and past editor of the RPPT Newsletter. She has worked on numerous real estate and finance legislative issues including co-authoring the 2008 amendments to the Deed of Trust Act and testifying at the Washington State Legislature. Ms. Harris also co-authored the chapter on Deeds of Trust in the Washington Real Property Deskbook.
Ms. Harris also served on FareStart's Corporate and Downtown Major Gifts Committee and Corporate Outreach Committee and as Vice President of the Board of Directors for Spectrum Dance Theater.
